On Friday 11th June, twenty six year 5 and 6 students and 7 adults participated in the Schools Sustainability Challenge, organised by Auckland Council and Lactic Turkey at Long Bay Regional Park,

The challenge involves working in teams and collecting as many points as possible in the time allocated. 

Students need to read a map to find the checkpoints and activities. All activities are related to sustainability. This year activities included barking a garden, identifying native and pest plants, using a catapult to hit pictures of marine pests, memorising animal names that were hidden under lizard houses, finding alternatives for single use plastic etc. It was a fun day exploring a beautiful area and learning as we went.
