Hayley Read —

Matua Te Ringakaha has won a position with Māori Achievement Collaboratives (MACs) as the National Facilitator overseeing all the MAC facilitators' Professional Learning and Development programmes.

Our kura has been so blessed to have had Matua Te Ringakaha as our rangatira, our awhina tumuaki, our friend for the last 11 years.  Matua Te Ringakaha has won a position with Māori Achievement Collaboratives (MACs) as the National Facilitator overseeing all the MAC facilitators' Professional Learning and Development programmes.

Derek Slatter (past Presiding Member) had these kind words to say that capture the essence of Te Ringakaha's contribution to WIS...Tena koe Te Ringakaha. You have taught me a great deal, for which I will be forever grateful. But far and away more importantly - you have had a positive impact on a community as part of a team which has done some amazing mahi, when the maunga we are all trying to climb has been steep and difficult. The path you have cleared will remain of benefit to those who come along it in the future.

Hiku Mackey, current trustee had these kind words to say....the drive and dedication you put into encouraging and growing the kaupapa to normalise our reo me nga mea tika school-wide is evidenced through our tamariki, teachers, the BOT and myself. I have seen the pride, talents, responsiveness and respect they have for what you have helped instil in them.

For me personally, Te Ringakaha has been a source of strength and encouragement.  He challenged my thinking, my values, my principles, and my unconscious bias.  I believe that without his commitment, dedication, and commitment to our tamariki and their education as Maori experiencing education success as Maori, we wouldn't be in the strong and growing position we are as a kura.  It takes a village and Te Ringakaha created that for us in the most authentic and meaningful way.  He has laid down the wero for us to keep growing and developing for the sake of our communities, hapu and iwi.

Go well in Tamaki Makaurau Matua Te Ringakaha, as the rangatiratanga for Māori Achievement Collaboratives MACs.  We all look forward to experiencing your influence in this important space.  Nga mihi nunui ki a koe.  Ma tau rourou, ma taku rourou, ka ora te iwi.  Sharing our knowledge and skills will ensure solutions.
