Sophie has been enjoying Gymnastics for over six years!

Her favourite apparatus is the Uneven Bars and in July this year, Sophie competed over two days, in the 2021 NZ Gymnastics Championships, in Auckland. Sophie Burgess achieved a  2nd in the Uneven Bars in Step 6 Qualifying round - Bringing home a Silver Medal - Well done Sophie!

Sophie practises eleven hours, over four days, every week, at the Whangārei Academy of Gymnastics and thinks everyone should try Gymnastics as it is an amazing sport! Sophie's goal is to represent New Zealand at the Junior Olympics in 2026. What a great goal Sophie, and we are looking forward to seeing you some time in the future representing New Zealand.
