Now that digital learning has commenced, we just want to remind all that chromebooks need to be cared for. We have chromebooks brought to the office with damaged screens, screws falling out, hinges broken....

Chromebook screens can easily crack if they receive a knock.  Where a device has been purchased from the Taitokerau Education Trust, the damage is covered by insurance.   Some of the reasons for damage are that the school bag containing chromebook was dropped, younger sibling sat on chromebook, chromebook was knocked off the dining table, dog stood on the chromebook, lid was shut with ear-plug caught on keyboard etc. etc.   If your student's device was purchased from the Taitokerau Education Trust, the damage can be covered by insurance which was built into the deal however please remind your child of their obligation to take care of their device as subsequent insurance claims for damage may be declined.
