On Monday, we had local performance artist and TikTok influencer Vincent Nathan mentor students in a Spoken Word Workshop...

He showed us examples of this art form - which is free verse poetry written to be performed. We brainstormed relevant themes and created word banks for those themes.

Students were given starters and had an opportunity to share their first drafts. Bailey-Kay, Cordahl, Lachie, Nova, and Jordan stepped up to the challenge. Ka pai to mahi! 

At the end of this term, we are organising a Spoken Word competition within the school where students can opt into solo or group pieces. Watch this space!
