Uniform reminders 👔
School uniforms encourage a sense of identity and inclusion within the school. There may be situations where for medical, cultural or religious reasons, an individual may wish to vary the uniform. These situations will be considered on a case by case basis. Ākonga are expected to wear their uniform correctly, neatly and tidily...
Uniform:
: Regulation navy shorts/skorts or long regulation navy pants.
: Tee Shirt- blue regulation shirt (plain white short sleeved T shirts may be worn as an undergarment in winter, providing they are not visible.
: Navy Whangarei Intermediate School jacket.
: Navy Whangarei Intermediate School polar fleece.
: Sandals - black/brown roman sandals, must have an ankle strap, black crocs (no socks).
: Shoes - black/brown polishable or canvas (no markings) with short black/white ankle socks. No high tops.
: School brimmed Hat - worn in terms 1 & 4. In an effort to promote safe sun practices, the school encourages hats to be worn outside.
Ākonga may wear a watch. Ākonga may also wear one pair of small silver/gold (no other colours) studs in their ears.
No other piercings are allowed eg. nose studs, ear cuffs, eyebrow piercings.
Wrist/ankle bracelets are not permitted.
The wearing of make-up /nail polish is not allowed, this includes false eyelashes and false nails.
Long hair must be tied back. Hair must be cut, trained or tied back in such a way that it does not impede normal learning processes.
No unnatural coloured hair is permitted.
