School Activity Fee and School Donations
Whangārei Intermediate has signed up for the Ministry of Education’s Donations funding scheme. As a result, we will not be asking for any activity levies or school donations in 2024. By opting into this scheme, parents do not pay the cost of compulsory items used as part of curriculum delivery e.g. photocopying, online programmes and field or other day trips. Under the scheme, we will still be able to charge costs for extra-curricular activities and seek donations for overnight camps.
Digital Immersion from Term 2, 2024
All classes are digital immersion. Students can either bring a device from home such as a Chromebook or laptop, or sign up for the Tai Tokerau Education Trust’s scheme to purchase a Chromebook and pay it off interest-free for two years (Year 7s) and one year (Year 8s). For more information, please contact the school office. We do have some older devices that can be borrowed and used at school but these may not go home.
Thank you for providing equipment for your child to attend Whangārei Intermediate School.
