Rito Hub

Firewise

In Rito Hub we have been learning about fire and how to keep safe. We know that if we smell smoke or the smoke alarm goes off we need to GET DOWN, GET LOW, GET OUT. When we get out of the house we need to go down the drive way and wait at the gate or the letterbox for the adults. We know that we should not go back inside. Even if we think we need to get our toys or our clothes or our pets, we do not go back in! We also practiced yelling FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! really loud to let everyone know there is fire. Did you hear us?

Everyone should have a safety plan for if you house catches on fire or the smoke alarm goes off. What is yours? If you are not sure - just ask anyone from Rito Hub!

The teachers showed us pictures of some dangerous tools - matches and lighters. We know that if we find these tools we need to give them straight to an adult. They are not to be played with. They are just for adults to use. We sorted some pictures into a chart of tools and toys.

We are looking forward to learning about smoke alarms and meeting some firefighters so we can learn about their job and how they put fires out.
