Preparing for 2024
As you will be aware we are currently having a new learning block constructed due to the rapid roll growth we are experiencing. With this in mind, we are also preparing for 2024 so need to know if you have any younger children that will be starting with us in 2024 or if your child/ren aren't returning next year (excluding our current Year 8 students). Please send an email or leave a message at the office if you have or are shifting into another school zone. This helps us prepare for the growth and ensure that we have enough teachers and teaching spaces available. Thank you in advance!
Welcome to Carmen
Due to our roll growth, we are expanding our Leadership team. On behalf of the Wharenui Board of Trustees we are pleased to announce the appointment of Carmen Aldridge as our new second Deputy Principal in 2024. Carmen is currently working at Tātai Ako Rau Core Education as a Kaihuawaere Māori Matua and she has previously been DP and kaiwhakahaere at St Albans School. She has experience in both culturally diverse English medium and bilingual Māori medium settings. We look forward to formally welcoming Carmen to Wharenui in 2024!
Senior Music Festival
Our Wharenui choir performed at the Town Hall on Thursday night. They have worked hard to learn the songs throughout the year to be part of this event. A huge thank you to Anke from Kowhai Nui for leading this group. A personal favourite was the final song which was Rocket Man by Elton John! Ka pai tō mahi to the all the students that took part in this special event.
Noho ora mai nā (Stay well / take care of yourself),
