Just a friendly reminder that this Friday 3rd June is our Staff Only Day. The school will be closed for students as our staff are heading to Tuahiwi Marae to take part in a Cultural Education workshop. Monday 6th June is a public holiday for the Queen's birthday. We look forward to seeing all students back at school on Tuesday 7th June. Enjoy the long weekend ahead with your family.
Congratulations to ...
Shihiran Samarawickrama (Year 6 - Manuka) - for completing in the recent Chess Tournament at Avonhead School and won a gold medal. Shihiran will represent Canterbury at the Nationals Tournament later in the year. Congratulations Shihiran!
Dray Buchanan, Khen Janier, Ayyub Ali - who finished with placings at the Zone Cross Country on Tuesday. Dray came 4th, Khen came 9th and Ayyub 10th. All three will represent our zone and school at the Central Cross Country later in June. Well done to this group of students!
Life Education
We have been very fortunate to have Ange from the Life Education team visit this week. Each class has had the opportunity to have at least two visits to the van to learning about how decisions they make today can affect their future health and well-being. Have a chat to your child/ren about what new learning came from their visits.
Student Safety - Harrington Park
It is unfortunate that of late there has been groups of students from a range of schools in the area gathering at this park and are threatening others with violence and intimidation. If you do see anything or have any concerns, please don't hesitate to make contact with the police straight away, as these types of behaviours are not acceptable.
It is vital that if students are heading to the park to play, that they are supervised by an adult.
