Care Parcels - Calling for Donations

Tracey Young —

from the Community Partnerships team

In the Wharenui School Community, we take care of each other.

Since we are likely to have more families isolating with covid and other illnesses over the Winter terms, we would like to put together some care parcels to deliver to homes, especially when people can’t get out to get groceries.

On Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd of June, we will be collecting items for these parcels.

Ideas for donations include:

  • Non-perishable food items, such as rice, pasta, canned foods, dried soup mixes
  • Cleaning products – disinfectant, soap, dish washing liquid, washing powder
  • Toilet paper or tissues
  • Baby items
  • Sanitary items

The school will donate masks, R.A.T.s and hand sanitizer.

A group of parents will pack these items into bags for distribution when people need help. If you would like to help, please let us know.

If your family becomes ill and needs to isolate, or you need help, please let your classroom teacher or the office know, and we will do what we can to help.
