Kia ora e te whānau,
Thank you to all those that came to see our Matariki Art Exhibition last week. What a fabulous opportunity this was to reconnect and see what our students have been learning about in relation to our new national holiday.
I felt very privileged to attend the annual Dancing Like the Stars performance at the Issac Theatre Royal on Wednesday night. Wharenui Year 7/8 students' performance was amazing and a credit to all the hard mahi (work) that they had put into rehearsals. It was fantastic to hear the students connecting the global competencies to their learning when being interviewed on stage!
A huge thank you to the team working behind the scenes with rehearsals, costumes, make up and organisation.
House of Bricks (Lego)
The team from the House of Bricks will be joining us in Week 10 on Wednesday and Thursday. Each hub will have the opportunity to spend some time completing a selection of creative challenges on one of these days. I know many students and staff are looking forward to the visit and it is a great way to launch into our Term 3 competencies of Creativity and Communication.
Holiday Activities
There are many free activities happening around Christchurch that you can take your children along to so check out the following link to KidsFest for more details: https://www.kidsfest.co.nz/
Friday 8 July is the last day for Term 2 so I will take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and restful holiday break. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the start of Term 3 on Monday 25 July.
Noho ora mai nā (Stay well / take care of yourself),
