Discovering Measurement: Exploring Non-Standard Units in Mathematics

We're starting to learn about measuring things in Maths! 

The kids had a blast collaborating across the two classes as they engaged in fun, hands-on maths activities. 

To start with, we have been using lengths of string to measure objects in our classroom. We are learning how to measure things like length and height, and compare different objects based on their size. 

We'll also learn why using certain units to measure things is important. We're excited to learn more about measuring in Maths!

Check out some of our students using string to measure different spaces, we even took this learning to our outside environment so that they could see that Maths is all around us!
