Maths Learning Posts
As part of Maths Week, each of our students have had a Mathematics post published on Linc-Ed Hero. Our Year 5-8 students have written these posts themselves and reflected on their progress to date. Please take the time to check out your child/ren's work and discuss what they are currently doing in Maths with them.
Sod Turning Ceremony
Last week, we were joined by representatives from Ngāi Tūāhuriri to help bless the site for our new buildings. The turning of the soil, from which this ceremony derives its name, symbolizes the breaking of new ground. It signifies the start of a new chapter for our Wharenui learning community filled with aspirations, opportunities and of course new buildings. The soil (sod) will be kept until the redevelopment is complete and will be marked with a tree in recognition of this special occasion.
Dance Curriculum
Mark from Dance Curriculum visited Wharenui last Tuesday and shared a snippet of his Hip Hop lessons with our students. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to demonstrate their love of music and movement. We hope to have Mark and the team come back next year and do some further lessons.
Absences
There are a few winter bugs still doing the rounds so it is important that students stay home if they are unwell. Please make sure you notify the school of your child/ren's absence either via phone message, email the office or through the Hero app.
Noho ora mai nā (Stay well / take care of yourself),
Tracey
