Bowls

The Kahikatea Hub has been walking down to Fendalton Bowls Club for the past three weeks to practise their bowling skills. We have been very fortunate to have great weather and even better coaching from their members. We learnt how to hold the lawn ball and how to release it without damaging the green. On the side of the ball there is a small circle called the ‘bias’. The bias is weighted and curves the ball in the direction, it was funny to see some people have their bias’ the wrong way! On Wednesday we played two games. The members were so impressed with our students. They thought the Year 7/8 students were role models and great citizens. They even invited us back for a tournament!
