Year 8 Careers Expo

On Thursday 26th of May, the Year 8s went on a trip to Careers Expo. Everyone was in separate groups and obviously each group had an adult with them. As soon as we entered the arena, we were overwhelmed. There were people in different places with different jobs: army trucks, soldiers and tents.

There were bartenders giving away mocktails and drinks, coffee and cookies.

We asked students from each group to say what their favorite part was in the Careers Expo and if they think they now know what they want to do in the future.

Martha and Aryan

“My favourite part was getting to participate in what they do. I loved making my own mocktail and playing in the gaming area. I’m thinking of becoming an engineer for the army.” - Ayyub.

“I loved making my own mocktail. I still do not know what I want to do in the future.” - Codie.

“ Doing CPR on the mannequins was my favorite part. I think I want to become a surgeon.” - Joshua.

“Definitely making Mocktails; they were very tasty. I haven't decided what job I want to pursue.” - Nikora.

“I loved the lady who worked on a farm; she talked about how the farm work was so amazing. I want to work on the farm or become a make-up artist” - TIna

“I loved how we got; free food, pens, bags, flowers and headbands. I still don’t know what I want to become in the future because there are so many options.” - Martha.
