Kowhai Hub

O te Whanau Matariki

We have loved celebrating Matariki in the Kowhai Hub.

Kowhai iti and Kowhai invited Kowhai Nui and Manuka over to share Kai. Thank you for the delicious food. We have been learning about the meaning of Matariki and its importance. Their artwork has been impressive in the way they have used pastel, pencil to represent themselves plus whānau. As we near the end of term, students have been working hard and doing their best to stay focused. We wish our whānau a prosperous, relaxing and reflective long weekend.

Kowhai Nui and Manuka

We have been learning about Mahinga Kai and celebrated the Winter Solstice by planting Garlic in the school garden. We are looking forward to harvesting it on the final day of the school year.

Matariki Cluster Art

Manuka and Kowhai nui have worked collaboratively to explore their star and produce some art to represent it. The Stars were made using origami by a group of students. They had to Critically Think about what symbols and colours they would use to share the message of each star.
