News from the Kōrari Hāpori
Each Hāpori takes a turn at sharing news from their team.
At this time of the school year, a big part of our job is managing the busyness of a term where so much gets packed in. The busyness provides great learning and we often see our kaiako and ākonga at their full potential.
As well as our usual learning in Reading, Writing and Maths we have had two weeks of swimming lessons, zone athletics, choir and cultural performances, football lessons, testing, transitions for our year six students, leadership applications and speech writing - this just skims the surface!
Our Relationships and Sexuality have nearly drawn to a close. Across all 4 classes, we have been impressed by the student's mature attitude towards the lessons and their amazing questions. The success of these lessons has been the result of learning in a class where they feel trusted, safe and confident to be challenged.
As the next three weeks progress, we will see students graduate from Childrens' University, perform at the Tuhono Festival, undertake Road Patrol training and compete in the Canterbury Athletics Championships. We wish the students involved in these performances the very best.
