A Friendly Reminder - STAFF ONLY DAY NEXT FRIDAY 3RD JUNE. Our school will be closed for instruction for a Staff Professional Learning Day. SKIDS are operating a holiday programme for the day if you require child care for your tamariki.
School Cross Country
Our 2022 Whītau School Cross Country was run yesterday on a beautiful autumn morning at Avon Park. It was wonderful to have whānau being able to be there to support our tamariki. Thank you so much for coming and supporting your tamariki and staying in the Parents Area for our orange level safety. The children tried really well with their running after training all term with their class, for the race yesterday. A big thank you to Mrs Heads for her wonderful organisation and a thank you to the staff for assisting with this event. Next year we will have an announcer to announce the races for you and share the results during the event.

School Basketball Team
The Whītau Dragons have made a great start to the season winning our first two games in the Year 5 and 6 basketball competition held at Cowles Stadium on Thursday nights. With only two players returning from last year we are in the development grade as most of our players are new to basketball and love learning the game.
Last week we played Queenspark and were leading the whole time. We played excellent defence and passed the ball well winning 10-8. The player of the day was Brianna for great passing and defence. This week we played Christchurch East School. Our teamwork and shooting were great. The score was 20 to 12. Well done everyone!
A special mention to the parents who are very supportive and encouraging on the sideline. We couldn't do it without you. We have a bye this week.
