Wow, what a term! Over the past few weeks we have begun practising for our dance competition which is in Week 9. The students have been practising very hard to learn the dance together. The dance is to the song E Tū Tāngata and the videos can be found on youtube.
We have also had a blast making our boats this term! We started the unit by discovering what items floated and what items sank. We made different boats from paper by learning to fold the paper, tinfoil and straws. We tested to see if they floated and how long they could float.
We enjoyed Matariki Breakfast this morning. We have been learning about the Matariki stories and have made stars as part of our celebration. Rooms 4 and 5 made team stars, by each decorating a piece and Room 6 learned how to weave stars.
