This is a list of supports that whānau can access in the community.

We know times are tough at the moment. We have made a list of supports that you can access if you need them. 

Heating:

- The Mayor’s Fund offers small one-off grants, for families in financial need. A declined letter is needed from Work and Income, call 03 941-8999.

Food Banks:- Positive Directions Trust- 0800 Hungry (Donation of $5)- The City Mission, call 03-3650635- St Vincent DePaul, call 03 389 7484 ext 1 and leave a message- The Salvation Army Linwood, call 03 389 3723- Delta, call 389 0212

The City Mission, The Salvation Army and Delta all provide budgeting support. There is also Compassion Trust 379 2329 and Kingdom Resources 03 332 1700.

Blankets:- The New Brighton Blanket Bank 0221563683, provides free bedding - The Salvation Army Linwood, call 03 389 3723, provides free bedding

Mental Health for Children:

- Children can call Whats Up? 0800 942 8787 (for 5–18 year olds). Phone counselling is available Monday to Friday, 12noon–11pm and weekends, 3pm–11pm.

Mental Health Support for Adults:

- Need to talk? Free call or text 1737 any time for support from a trained counsellor- Lifeline – 0800 543 354 (0800 LIFELINE) or free text 4357 (HELP)- Anxiety phone line – 0800 269 4389 (0800 ANXIETY)
