News from the Kākano Team

Each team takes a turn at sharing news from their team.

Kia ora Whānau

The last week of Term One has arrived already. We have had a busy term and look forward to another busy term of learning when we return to school on Wednesday the 26th April.

The Kākano and Kehakai Team enjoyed our walk to The Landing last Friday. It was great having you join us for this so you could share part of our learning topic about Water. This week we had a visit from Jocelyn who works with ECan to tell us about different ways of how we can take responsibility for maintaining our Water Ways so the different creatures that live in these habitats can continue to do so, now and into the future.

The children enjoyed participating in the different games during our House Games afternoon this week. This was a fun activity for our last week of Term One. The children are really enjoying the new sandpit at Whītau School. Kākano and Kehakai are rostered on each Tuesday and look forward to having this time with others to build sandcastles and play with the range of toys in the sandpit. Room 3 have carried out a few science experiments throughout the term, e.g. Walking Water and Storm in a Jar. We have used these as part of our Writing topic.

Thank you for your support throughout Term One and we wish you a safe and fun Easter Weekend with your family and friends.
