Kia ora, talofa lava, mālō e lelei, bula vinaka!
In the first two weeks of term 2, Karawhā took part in swimming lessons at Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool. We learnt lots about water safety, as well as learning how to be more confident in the water. We enjoyed seeing our whānau join us down there too!
In our Writing, we have been keeping a Swimming Journal, and learning about time connections such as last week, yesterday and today to help retell our swimming journey. We are also learning to be better writers by using a Writing Checklist. Ka mau te wehi!
In Maths, we have been looking at measurement, where we are learning to measure accurately using rulers and being able to identify the shortest, longest and tallest objects. It was challenging at first, but we are starting to get the hang of it. Wananavu Karawhā!
On Wednesday, we walked down to The Landing to continue our learning about the awa (river) that runs through our area. We saw how much rubbish is in our river, and had to sort through the rubbish to see what could be recycled. Thank you to the parents that volunteered their time to walk down with us, we appreciate it.
Term 2 promises to be jam-packed with new learning, and we are excited to see where our learning will take us.
A fantastic start to term 2 Karawhā, ka mau te wehi!
