News from the Kōrari Hāpori
The Kōrari Team has 101 students spread across 4 classes and has Year 4, 5 and 6 learners. We welcome Belinda Walsh to our team, a very experienced teacher who also has great experience in The Arts.
This term already our students have been learning some valuable skills and information, partly with help from outside experts. We have had Wilj from ImpactEd teaching students how to programme Lego Robotics, visitors from Te Ahi Ora talking and involving students in Wellbeing and fire poi, Avon Park designers gathering ideas from our students to redesign the Park and visitors from Sport Canterbury, introducing our students to winter sports.
We have also begun Recorder, Ukulele, Kapa Haka and Pasifika lessons as well as Digital Music, Dance and Choir. Leadership roles in Library, Student Council, Physical Activity Leaders, Road Patrol and Wet Day Monitors are also underway. Our team has so much to offer, so we feel there is something for everyone to get involved in.
Camp for our Year 5 and 6 students is in early May. If your child is in these year levels they would have brought home a Health Profile Form and Behaviour Contract. If they haven't been returned to school, could you please ensure they are, as soon as possible? We are all getting really excited about our Living Springs Camp! The Year 4 students in Kōrari will be supported to continue their learning at school while Year 5 and 6 are away on camp.
Thanks.
Darrin Mitchell, Kōrari Team Leader.
