Kia ora e te whānau

Our sincere thanks to the Student Council and the New PTA for organising a fabulous Disco last Friday. Just under $1900 was raised on the night. Such a great effort - well done.

Look out for more things to come from the PTA.

Book Week 2024

Everyone has had so much fun with this - students and staff alike. The book characters yesterday were amazing and there was lots of chat about the books each character came from. Staff just love a good dress up too. From Dalmations, Alice in Wonderland, The Day the Crayons Quit, Carebears, Dr Suess, and Toy Story characters.

Each day teachers have visited other classes to read their favourite stories and these stories have been well received.

Yesterday the students also received their final Duffy book choices for the year - always a great day.

Thank you to parents and caregivers for supporting the day with costume supporting. There were some very creative ones.

Mihi Whakatau

New to our school since Term 3 week 1? Our Mihi Whakatau will be held to formally welcome you to the school family. We welcome you to join us in the Hall at 9:15am on Wednesday 16 October for this short ceremony of Welcome. It will be followed by tea and coffee and a chat for those who can stay. Love to catch up with you.

Eat, Learn, Play

After surveying the school staff, and a range of students, we have decided to continue the Eat, Learn Play timings in Term 4. We hope that we can maximise the warm weather and eat outside when we can.

Kittyhawk Entry Gate

In the mornings we have a staff member supporting the arrival of students to the school each day. They are required to return immediately to their classroom at 8:55am as they have a class to teach. This will mean the gate will be locked at 8:55am and any parents who are still on the grounds will need to exit through the Office doors. Anyone arriving to school after 8:55am will need to enter, and exit, through the Office entrance. Arriving after 8:55 means a child must be signed in on the school sign in ipad in the Office, as they are officially late and they will have missed the class roll call and not be marked present. Failure to do this may end up with your child not being mark present for the morning, and you may get a phonecall from the Office to say they are not at school.

Lateness is recorded and reported to the Ministry who monitor attendance trends.

Welcome for Term 4

We welcome Mr Gerhard Potgieter to our Pukeko teaching team for term 4. Gerhard is a previous staff member and is fondly known as Mr P. Mr P will be working alongside Michelle Gordon, Janine Wood, Madison Hawke, Jacinda Clements and Neriza Barlin in the New Entrant area of Pukeko.

We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday.

Ngā mihi nui
