Christchurch Avon Athletics Club

We are a well organised, friendly Junior Athletics Club – catering for children of all abilities in the 5-14yr age groups.

Club nights are Wednesdays 5pm -6.45pm (5/6yrs finish by 6.30pm) – at Burnside High School.

First Club night for the 2023/2024 season is Wednesday 16th October.

Saturday Inter-Club Competition at Nga Puna Wai all-weather track is available and top-quality coaching is provided.

Registration Day: 

DATE:       Monday 14th October

TIME:        5.00-6.30pm

PLACE:     Christchurch Avon Club Rooms – Burnside High School

                 (access from Greers Rd beside tennis courts)

FEES:        $122 per child ($102 for the 2nd and subsequent children in the family)

                $75 for children in the Kiwisport Group – 5/6 yrs

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Bollywood Dance Group

We have had some enquiry regarding our Bollywood Dance Group held on Wednesday's in the hall with Dee (parent) and Fiona (teacher)

Unfortunately there is no capacity for new members as the term draws to a close. However, it will start up again next year (possibly in term 2) and there will be a chance for students to come and join this popular group. More details will follow in Term 1, 2025

At GuruKool we learn Hindi which has become the 3rd most spoken language largely thanks to the Bollywood Culture.
We also learn about the celebrations we have which in turn answers the children's questions about whys and how.
Based in Hornby we offer free education to those who are willing to learn.

Join us as we retell the story of how she triumphs over her evil Stepmother, meets a handsome Prince, joins 7 funny little people in the forest and dances with her forest animal friends. Danced by local children and young people for children, this is a show all ages will enjoy.
