Some news from Ruru ...

Inquiry

In Ruru, we have been learning about Endangered Animals. We were lucky enough to begin our topic with a visit from the conservation trust. During this visit, we learnt about species that were endangered, specifically in NZ, and even got to see a real life Tuatara.

Literacy

This term in writing we have started to learn about how to write an information report. This is linked to our learning about animals. We have begun by learning about the capybara and looking at the new babies they have at Willowbank. This has been a highlight for a lot of us so far.

PE/Sport

We have started our sport rotations learning about the sports that are options for Winter Sport this term. We have been participating in lessons, learning about, Hockey, Netball, and Soccer. We are really looking forward to winter sport starting in Week 5.

We have also started training for the cross country. A lot of us are challenging ourselves to be part of the competitive cross country, in week 3, so have been working hard during training sessions at fitness time.
