The importance of reading your child's report

The reports we prepare for you are a celebration of the progress and achievement in the current focus curriculum area/s.

Reading your child's comment informs you of your child's progress and provides you with an insight into the things they have been working on, the skills that they are developing, and some next steps that they will continue to develop.

Through the capabilities that we have access to with Hero, we are able to see when parents open their child's report comment. We have noticed that there has been a drop in parents engaging with reading report comments.

Teachers pay careful attention to ensure that they individualise each child's comment and spend a lot of time to ensure that the comment is informative.

It would be a great idea to read your child's comments with them to celebrate their progress. The next report comment will be shared with you in week 9. The focus of this comment will be on Writing and Inquiry.
