Year 6 Cycle Safety Week

This week our Year 6 students have been participating in the Christchurch City Councils learn to ride programme.

The students began their training by riding through an obstacle course  of cones on the court. They needed to turn quite tightly at times in and out of the cones. The students also needed to control their speed and be aware of other riders, making sure everyone was safe at all times.

The students also had to brake quickly when instructed and make to sure they used arm signals to show other riders and road users where they were going.

There was lots of laughter and a definite increase in cyclist knowledge at the end of the two day programme. Well done to all of our riders.
