From our students ... what an amazing bake sale we had

Last week Ruru learning space had a very successful bake sale. The following is a recount of the experience by two of our students from Ruru. The money was to fundraise for their end of the year camp. Great job everyone!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It was super fun selling the delicious goodies! There were lollie cakes, marshmallow lollipops with marshmallows, all kinds of cupcakes, cookies, cakes, bread, lollie bags and all kinds of sweet stuff! Cynthia and Hannah were working together. We made chocolate cupcakes.

Hannah was doing the whipped cream on the cupcakes and giving the money from the customers to the teachers that worked in Ruru. I was collecting the money from the customers and giving it to Hannah, and I was also helping with the sprinkles. When Hannah was gone and customers came, I had to do the whipped cream. Making the cupcakes pretty was quite hard but after we sold around 3 cupcakes it was getting easier and easier.

We were in a kind of a rush because it was mostly Kererū buying the cupcakes, they were gathering around us like a herd at a watering hole! When it was all sold out I closed the lid of the rainbow sprinkles, uhm well the lid broke off… then Miss Fergerson fixed it. Then we tidied everything up and left it on the tiny semi circle table we were working on. Then I looked around to see what everyone else was selling. Lots of people were also sold out! I didn’t know what to buy because there was so much delicious food!

Selling it was a bit exhausting because there were so many customers there. But the sale was fantastic! It was of course amazingly fun! After the bake sale we got to go on the playground and play because we didn’t get our morning tea.

After that we went back into the classroom and we had our novel after the novel. The teachers then told us how much we raised and the number was shocking!! It was $950 DOLLARS!
