Community Dental Service

One of the Community Dental Service vans is at our school now.

They will be seeing all children over a period of a few weeks. The dental therapist will provide a regular check-up and preventative care which may include: Cleaning/Scaling (to remove plaque from teeth) Dental x-rays (to check for decay in teeth, or presence and position of teeth) Fluoride Varnish (painted on teeth to help prevent decay) Fissure Sealants (coating put on teeth to prevent decay) if required.  Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Halswell Cricket Club

Registrations for the 2023/24 summer cricket season at Halswell Cricket Club are now open! New players are very welcome. Come and see us at our club open day on Sunday 17th September, from 1-3pm at the Halswell Domain to find out more and have a go.
Our junior grades cater for kids in Year 1 to Year 8, including mixed, boys and girls teams. Our friendly club welcomes players of all ages and abilities. The 2023 season is about to get underway with Registration and Love Tennis Day.
A great day out for the whole family. This will be held on Sunday 10th September 10am to 4pm.

Christchurch Avon Athletics Club – Junior Section

We are a well organised, friendly Junior Athletics Club – catering for children of all abilities in the 5-14yr age
groups.
Club nights are Wednesdays 5pm -6.45pm (5/6yrs finish by 6.30pm) – at Burnside High School.
First Club night for the 2023/2024 season is Wednesday 11th October.
Saturday Inter-Club Competition at Nga Puna Wai all-weather track is available and top-quality coaching is
provided.

REGISTRATION DAY – FOR ALL NEW MEMBERS:
DATE: Monday 9th October
TIME: 5.00-6.30pm
PLACE: Christchurch Avon Club Rooms – Burnside High School
(access from Greers Rd beside tennis courts)
FEES: $110 per child ($90 for the 2nd and subsequent children in the family)
$65 for children in the Kiwisport Group – 5/6 yrs
Fees are payable following registration by internet banking
Note - Until payment has been received, the child’s registration is incomplete.
Our very popular Junior club fills up quickly – so it is recommended that all new members attend registration night
on Monday 9th October to secure a place.

Pooh Bear Live - Christchurch Shows - September

We are excited for this fun, magical adventure through the Hundred Acre Wood to the North Pole! We are bringing classic Winnie the Pooh and all his friends to life and on stage in a show suitable for all ages!

Our Christchurch shows will be running for 4 days 22nd-25th September 11am, 3pm and 7pm at the James Hay Theatre (Town Hall).

We will also have 1 day of shows in Ashburton on the 9th of September.
Step into the pages of AA Milne's original creation. Featuring MAGIC, music, dancing, humour, live audience interaction, and special effects to entertain and enthrall audiences and fans of all ages.
