Congratulations to our Year 6 Award Winners for 2023

Well done to the Year 6 recipients of this years special awards. These trophies acknowledge the hard work, dedication and excellence in achievement both in and out of the classroom.


Aspiring Leader Award Shanaya Gupta.

Shanaya has consistently demonstrated the characteristics of a great leader. She has shown initiative and responsibility. Shanaya is an outstanding role model to her peers. She is proactive and show amazing organisational skills.            Shanaya is a leader who leads by example.

Sports Involvement Award  Isacc Young

Isaac has shown commitment, determination and excellence in sport, as well as making the most of the sporting opportunities given this year. Isaac has achieved excellent results across a number of disciplines, representing Wigram Primary at the West Zone Competitions in Cross Country, Football and AthleticsHe can be relied upon to support and encourage his team mates, and is the first person to congratulate his fellow competitors.

Environment Award  Kieran Kennedy

Kieran demonstrates a commitment to keeping our school environment clean and tidy. He is an inspiration to others including the staff at Wigram Primary. We know that Kieran will continue to shine his eco values wherever he goes. 

Cultural Achievement  Ana Gupta

Ana has played an active part in the senior choir, kapa haka, Indian dance, ukulele and Art Club. Ana was also part of the performance group at the Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival. She has also been a leader in our Kapa Haka Performance Rōpū and performed at our Cluster Pō Whakangahau.

Duffy Main Freight Award Jamilah Manapat and Lucas Frater 

Jamilah always strives for excellence and achieves a high standard. We have been so impressed with her positive, outgoing attitude towards her learning. Jamilah takes pride in presenting work to a very high standard.  

Lucas has a love for learning and shows great perseverance when trying new things. He is always in the right place at the right time, eager to learn and encouraging others to do the same.

Young Gardener Award  Katelyn Van Dyk

Katelyn has helped to propagate seeds, plant seedlings, water and weed, through to harvesting the ripe fruit and vegetables that we have eaten at school.

 Excellence in Attitude and Effort Award  Shreya Sebin

Shreya approaches all new learning with a positive attitude and an open mind. She asks questions, and seeks help and when needed and always does her best to action feedback from teachers.                                                      Shreya always strives to grow her own knowledge and understanding.

Citizenship Award  Catherine Shen

Catherine was voted by the staff at Wigram Primary School vote as the Year 6 student who consistently thorough out her time at Wigram Primary School has epitomised our school values and is an outstanding role model to all.

Academic Excellence Award Austin Fletcher

Austin has shown outstanding academic progress throughout the year. He has demonstrated academic excellence across all areas of the  curriculum. Austin rises to different challenges and uses feedback to reflect on and improve his learning. He puts 110% into everything he does.
