Kia ora e te whānau

Best laid plans for my return have not gone to plan with some continued health issues.  However these are now behind me and I will be back full time from Monday 19 June.  I have really missed being part of the busy life.  Thanks must go the Gerhard Potgieter and Michelle Gordon for their 'stepping up' roles in the school.  They have both done a magnificent job.

Sharing our Learning

You will have been informed by your childs' learning space about a sharing time to celebrate Term 2 learning, or to have a look at some parts of the classroom programme.  This is a great opportunity for your child to share their learning and show you around the place they spend at least 5 hours a day.  These times are on our latest calendar with this newsletter.

Teachers Pay Negotiations Settles

You will be pleased to hear that the Teachers Pay dispute with the Ministry of Education has been settled and these will be no further strike days this year.  Thank you for your support over this time - the teachers really appreciated it.

Three-way Conferences

These will be held in Week 2 (Tuesday 25 & Wed 26 July) following the release of your childs' report on Friday 29 June.  Interview options will be opened on Monday 17 July.  Tuesday 25 will be the evening option for interviews, and will conclude at 8pm.

Vandalism

We have had quite a bit of inappropriate behaviour in our school grounds over the last few weeks.  These are things happening in the evenings and weekends.  Due to the damage we are seeing it must be being done by older teens and working in a group, not individuals.  If you do see any inappropriate behaviour outside of school hours, please ring the Police.

Canterbury Centrals Cross Country Race

Congratulations to Isaac and Sophia who have been selected to compete in this event next Wednesday.  We are so proud of you and wish you all the best.
