Some news from Toroa ...

Toroa has had a wonderful term learning all about Bees. We were lucky enough to have a visit organised by Kathryn Jer from Clever Little Bees in Week 3. She brought in bee suits and different types of honey and honeycomb for us to try. Kathryn also brought an observation hive and hive frames for us to look at. Thank you Kathryn - we learnt so much!

Mr Rob has also been helping Toroa to build a bee friendly garden this term. We have planted lots of beautiful flowers and built garden beds to attract bees in the spring. The children have loved their visits down to the garden to help out.

To conclude our topic on bees, Toroa are busy working on projects to display their learning. These will include Bee Dioramas in shoe boxes, bee friendly kits and board games about Bees. Parents and whānau will be able to come and view these in Week 10 and share our celebration of learning with us.
