Kia ora e te whānau

Lots of exciting things happening around the school at the moment.  Dance, kapahaka and singing groups preparing for performances either this term or before the end of the year.  Classes working on Art projects to share with parents before the end of term, and lots of talk about Book Week dressup characters.

Dental Van

The dental van is currently at school and is working through a visit to the van for a teeth check for all students.  Students usually go to the van in small groups to have their teeth checked.  It will take several weeks to work through all children.

Keeping Ourselves Safe Curriculum

We had over 30 parents attend the meeting with Constable Brad on Tuesday afternoon.  It was a great way for parents to learn about the curriculum content which will begin to be delivered from next week.  Some lessons will be delivered by the classroom teachers, and others by the police.  Some of the activities require children to discuss safety things at home, and we ask you to support your child with this.

School Photos

What a surprise to us all - the photographer arrived today to take our yearly school photos.  The date was booked a year ago and we had had no confirmation of the booking, nor information to send to parents prior.  However we have managed to get the class groups taken along with an individual photo of each child. Sibling photos have also been taken.  There is no obligation to purchase the photos and you will have a small preview photo to look at before ordering.  Watch out for information home about the process.

Pizza Camp Fundraiser

Wow, who knew pizza would be a great fundraiser.  What a mission on Thursday morning with so many ordering.  Thankyou everyone with your patience on the day. Over $700 was raised for the camp.  Another pizza fundraiser will be held on 15 September.  This time we are working to streamline the ordering and payment process.  There will be the same option as last week with paying on the day, but this time it will be a the child's learning space, but there will also be an option, through a google form, to pre-order up to two days before, and to pay online or at the office.
