Welcome to our Newsletter #6 for 2022

Welcome to Term 2

We all hope you enjoyed your holidays as much as we did.  It was really time for us all to take a break and leave covid behind.

We hope that the Covid times of Term 1 are behind us and we get some consistent runs with our learning programmes at school.  Term 1 seemed very disjointed.

We welcome back Mr Rob and he will be attending school on shortened hours as he continues to recover from knee surgery.  We missed you.

Congratulations to our Kererū Team Leader - Michelle Pothan who married over the Easter break and is now Mrs Michelle Gordon.

On Friday 20 May we farewell Ms Nikki Grimwood as she leaves to have her second child.  Nikki is our Release Teacher in Pukeko.  We wish Nikki all the best with expanding her wee family.  From 24 May Mrs Sarah Josland will return to the school after her maternity leave and will teach in Pukeko two days each week.

Mask reminder

While we welcome parents into the school grounds again, we do expect all adults to wear a mask, and not to be in the classrooms.  Teachers are enjoying being able to have face to face conversations with parents again.  Watch out for the opportunity to attend a Learning Space face to face meet up during the term.

Welcome to new Staff

Welcome to Miss Shyla Cooper to our roll growth additional teacher position in Pukeko

Staff Only Day - Tomorrow Friday 13th May.  No school for children

New Scooter Track

Work has begun on the scooter track this week.  It will take all term to complete and is going to be amazing.  Outerspace have fenced off their working space and will access the space by putting in a temporary gate or two.

Reporting to Parents

At the end of Term 2 we will begin our reporting process.  It will consist of a full comment in Reading and a focus on one of our school values.

Covid 19 Continues

Please make sure you continue to notify us of any covid cases in your household.  We are still required to notify the Ministry of Education about our daily numbers.  We have very few positive case numbers across the school.

Dental Van

Yes the van is back - Third time lucky.

All children will be assessed on site, and where dental work is required, parents will be contacted to take their child to the Dental Hub on Heihei Road in Hornby.
