Our Build

We are very excited as we have been given a date to move into our new building.

Southbase have confirmed that we can move in to our new building on Monday 31 January.  This is great news as it gives time for the two learning teams to set up before the children are back on site on Tuesday 8 February.

The Learningspaces will be called Pukeko (for our New Entrants) and Matuku (for our Year 1 students).

To enable us to get organised for 2022, we will be managing some classroom moves prior to the end of the year.  It is a massive job, and having the children to assist with this is essential.

So this brings us to the learning space set up for 2022.

New Entrant - Pukeko (new building) - By the Kittyhawk Ave entrance gate

Year 1 - Matuku (new building) - Towards the senior playground

Year 2 - Kererū

Year 3/4 - Toroa (and Kōtuku Space) - one class across the two spaces

Year 5/6 - Ruru - no move

Classlists will be out with the Newletter on 9 December.

Teaching staff for each space

Pukeko - Mrs Caisee Loye (Team Lead) & Miss Serena White

Matuku - Mrs Aimee Wales (Team Lead), Miss Muriel Pehi & Miss Alicia Bell

Kererū - Mrs Michelle Pothan (Team Lead), Miss Amelia Ryman & Mr Michael Leung

Toroa - Mr Marc Gibson (Team Lead), Mrs Alexia Walker, Mrs Ellie Galletly, Miss Harriet Burke & Mr Brian Walkinshaw

Ruru - Ms Trish Bunting (Team Lead), Mrs Seaeun Lee, Miss Lucy Ferguson

Managing the Move

The learningspace moves will take place on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 December.  Furniture for Pukeko and Matuku will be stored in the current Pukeko space and the Hall on 14 December, then all to Pukeko on the afternoon of 15 December.

While we will have some alternative programmes happening in different parts of the school over this moving time, some parents may choose to keep children at home on the 14th and 15 Dec.  This would certainly make our move much smoother and simpler.  We know some children will not cope well with the disruption and lack of usual structure.

Our final morning is Thursday 16 Dec and we close at 12 noon.  Attendance is optional.
