LATEST NEWS AND VIEWS April 15th 2021

Term 1 is coming to a close. Days are certainly cooler and nights really have a winterish feel. We all hope you have a wonderful 2 weeks break from school and get the chance to share some family times together.

Sunhats

Sunhats can now be stored away until our October term begins.  We will be encouraging all children to bring their sunhat home this week so it can be washed and ready for Term 4.

School Holiday break - Monday 19 April - Friday 30 April.  Term 2 starts at 8:55am on Monday 3 May.

School Trips this week

This week has been very busy with Kererū and Kōtuku out and about.  Have a look in this newsletter to find out what they have been up to.  We are extremely grateful to the parents and grandparents who have supported these trips.  Without your help we would not be able to go.

Stage 2 Build

The Board of Trustees is just waiting to get the proposed plan for our additional learning spaces.  This new space will cater for two learning hubs, each with 3 teachers, and will bring our school role capability up to 450 students.  The spaces will generally look the same as the hubs we currently have with a couple of tweaks due to how it will be sited on the grounds.  Once we have the proposed plan, we will open up an opportunity to share it with you.

Student Council

Our thanks to the Student Council for making a massive amount of soup on Monday and Tuesday.  Please read their article with this newsletter.  Funds raised will be used by the student council to action some events and/or activities around the school.

The soup was amazing too.  Well done.

School PTA Disco

A great night was held last Friday evening.  Lots of cool costumes. dance moves and fun had by all.  Thanks heaps to all the parents who helped make the evening a success.

Whānau Hui

Last Thursday evening a group of our Māori parents met and discussed aspects and opportunities for students at Wigram Primary.  This was a great way to gather parent voice for programmes and processes we have in place and other aspects we can look to include in the future.

We value the opportunity to engage with the whānau and look forward to having another session later in the year.

Mr Rob is back

We are pleased to see Mr Rob back working in the school.  He is still recovering from the back injury and has to take things easy for a while.
