Huritini Student Council

Our school has recently been involved in the Huritini Student Council with seven other primary schools from Christchurch. Vadim and Karaitiana are the Wigram Primary School representatives.

Their goal is to bring student voice to the wider community in Otautahi. They are currently busy working on a presentation to present to the Council Community Board. The children would like to add signage to Westlake Park as recently there has been a bit of damage to the wildlife that live at this reserve. The Huritini Student Council meets every 6 weeks at the Halswell Library to discuss what each school will work on, in order to create and present the presentation. 

Yesterday Vadim was the Chairperson who ran the meeting with help from Ann Galloway- Councillor for Halswell. He did a great job and we were very proud of his efforts.
