Walk Huriawa Peninsula, Karitane š
Karitane MÄori Tours will take you on 90-minute guided easy walk through the historic Te PÄ Ä Te Wera on the dramatic Huriawa Peninsula on Saturday 24 April. Walk starts 10.30am and estimated to finish 12-12.30pm. Meet beside the Karitane Boating Club.
The walking tour takes you through the historic living areas, learn stories of the past inhabitants, the restoration efforts of the present generation, gaining an insight into the importance of this treasured landscape and the cultural connection between the mountains, the river and the ocean.
Walkers please meet at the KaritÄne Foreshore Reserve beside the boating club and public toilets.
This walk will be on come rain, hail or shine!
Plenty of free parking.
Easy walking for all ages and fitness levels .
Children attending this event can redeem a Kiwi Guardian Wild Dunedin Medal. At the start of the walk you will be given the information on how to claim your medal on www.wilddunedin.nz.
