Karitane Māori Tours will take you on 90-minute guided easy walk through the historic Te Pā ā Te Wera on the dramatic Huriawa Peninsula on Saturday 24 April. Walk starts 10.30am and estimated to finish 12-12.30pm. Meet beside the Karitane Boating Club.
The walking tour takes you through the historic living areas, learn stories of the past inhabitants, the restoration efforts of the present generation, gaining an insight into the importance of this treasured landscape and the cultural connection between the mountains, the river and the ocean.
Walkers please meet at the Karitāne Foreshore Reserve beside the boating club and public toilets.
This walk will be on come rain, hail or shine!
Plenty of free parking.
