Morning is a great time to check out the bird feeding stations, full of tui, korimako and kākā, followed by takahē feeding at 11am, and a visit to the reptile enclosures to see Otago skink, jewelled gecko and tuatara.

It's always good to visit Horopito Cafe that captures the sun and has one of the best views around.   — Image by: Orokonui Ecosanctuary
