Monarch Wildlife Cruises —

Monarch Wildlife Cruises are offering a full day pelagic photography expedition on Sunday 28 April from 8am to approx 3pm. This expedition for photographers goes 15km out to sea, above Otago Canyons.

The tour is aboard the Vivienne J and is limited to 8-12 people.  It leaves from  Careys Bay 7.30am, returning about 3pm, depending on conditions.

Bring your own lunch. Hot drinks supplied.

Bring a camera, binocs (we do have some on board), warm clothing (we also have coats) and if you think you need it, sea-sickness medication.

We will bring a naturalist who’s good at identifying the pelagic birds.

On previous birding trips to the Otago Canyons we have seen over 20 species of pelagic birds.

Weather backup day is the following Sunday, the 5th of May.

Please ring to book, and we’ll take your contact details so the skipper can contact you about noon the day before to advise if the trip is on or off.
