Thank you to the community for their generous poppy donations leading up to the service, we raised an amazing $510! SCHOOL NOTICES:

CROSS COUNTRY - This is being held at Glentunnel School on Friday 24 May. We encourage children to start training over the holidays for this event.

ABSENCES - To ensure your child has a consistent learning experience regular attendance is important. As a school we are above the national attendance average and most students have fantastic attendance. We understand that there has been a lot of illness around and we actively encourage you to follow ministry guidelines, especially when children have infectious conditions.  If your child has been unwell and you are concerned about their attendance or their academic progress please contact their teacher in the first instance so that we can support you with this. We also encourage children to access the learning provided online via Reading Eggs / Eggspress and Maths Seeds / Mathletics. Below you will find the ministry recomendations for attendance, along with the Windwhistle Attendance Target, set by the BoT in January.  Currently we are sitting at 94% attendance.

95% = Acceptable (10 days absent per year)

90% = Of concern (20 days absent per year)

85% = Critical concern (30 days absent per year)

80% = very serious (40 days absent per year)

Windwhistle School Goal: 92%

COMMUNITY NOTICES:

FILM OPPORTUNITY -  'My Name is Moana' is playing on Tuesday, 14 May 2019. This concert will be especially attractive to young people with an interest in the ocean, the environment, and those who play ukelele or guitar. See the info in the photo section for more details.
