Kererū Visit Washpen Falls - It was an awesome day. A bit gusty in some of the gullies we normally stop to chat/fill in our work sheets, but the falls was nice and sheltered for our lunch break.

We would like to extend our thanks to the parent helpers (who were all great) for helping with transport, keeping the children safe and interacting with them so well by pointing out things of interest to enhance the learning plus discussing things individually with the children to help them fill in their worksheets: Kate Guild, Tim Hopkins, Sam Ballagh, Will Innes and Rebecca Rose. A special thanks to Mrs Mehrtens for organising this trip for us.

If you have any photos of this trip please send them through to me: principal@windwhistle.school.nz or add them directly to the Google Photo folder, below.

SCHOOL NOTICES:

Garden to Table

If your child is in the garden this week please wear appropriate shoes or gumboots. We are planning on cooking flat bread and pesto. We are in need of some olive oil, herbs for the pesto (e.g. parsley, basil or mint); garlic; lemons; spinich; and tasty cheese. If these items could be donated it would be great but if not we will shop on Thursday.

Thanks Bron and Jane.

El Grego - Friday 13 March

Please can you let me know if you are available for transport for this event. We will leave here at 10:15 and return after lunch. Pre-schoolers are welcome to join us.

Swimming Lessons

These continue next week. Please send togs every day. The children's skills are progressing well. We aim to carry lessons on for as long as possible this term due to not being able to offer them next term.

Toilet Upgrade

Flooring is down and painting has been completed this morning. One more toilet and two sinks are left for the plumber to fit off and then we are done! We are scheduled for completion on Monday. Thanks to all the children for their patience and good manners while this project has been undertaken.

Selwyn Library ECV

The library van will be visiting from 1pm - 3pm on Tuesday the 10th of March.
