SCHOOL NOTICES:
ROOM 1 - Lucy Cookson will be in teaching on Tuesday for Jane's classroom release. We are looking forward to having Lucy back teaching at Windwhistle this year.
ROOM 2 - We have been focusing on one of our values this week - RESPONSIBILITY - Please remind your children that they are responsible for bringing back their home learning folder and diary every day. We have had a few slip ups this week. Lucy is teaching in Room 2 on Friday.
SCHOOL CUTS - Phoebe is in for School Cuts on Monday 18 February. Please contact Rhonda (office@windwhistle.school.nz) to book and support this fundraiser. Money raised will be put towards EOTC opportunities for our children including the PAL's Training and Top Team event next week.
ACCOUNTS - We have a number of unpaid accounts from 2018. Cheryl will be emailing these out over the next few days. Please arrange payment as soon as possible so that we can tidy these up. 2019 accounts will be sent via Linc-Ed, stationery is currently being added and you can log in to your account to see this. Accounts will be sent on the 20th of each month as well.
ABSENCES - We understand that children can be absent from school for a number of reasons. If your child is absent we need to know the reason in writing via email, or a message left on the school phone (03 3186828). We need to code these absences correctly in our system for Ministry of Education requirements. Thank you for your support on this.
PAL's TRAINING DAY (Year 6) - Please click here for more information about this opportunity next week for our Year 6 students.
TOP TEAM (YEAR 5 & 6) - Please click here for event organisation and details for this opportunity next week for our Year 5 & 6 learners.
MEET THE TEACHER - This Friday is our annual meet the teacher meeting and whānau picnic. This event starts at 5pm in our school library - all welcome!
MALVERN TRIATHLON (Years 4-6) - I have heard from the parents of three children for this event. If your child is keen there is still time to get in touch with me. We are waiting on information from the organizing school and will send this out as soon as it arrives.
CURRENT POLICY REVIEW - We have two policies for review on School Docs this term. We really value your input on these reviews so please take the time to complete them. Remember both the username and password for the site in the word: windwhistle. Click each policy to access it's review form.
LINC-ED - Jane and I have been busy adding posts to the children's learning on Linc-Ed. We are working on developing clear and coherent learning pathways this year and hope to share some of this work with you at the Meet The Teacher Picnic.
Windwhistle School’s ANZAC Ceremony 11am Friday 12 April 2019 at the Glenroy Monument
Please note that this is on the final day of Term 1. (We hold it on this day, as it is a bit impractical to actually have it on ANZAC Day). The children run this ceremony for their community once every 3 years and it is the culmination of a lot of their Social Studies learning during this current term. More information will be given closer to the time, but we just wanted to stress that we do need all children present please, for this important occasion. For more info., please contact Kathy.
