The Physical Activity Leader (PAL) initiative is a collaborative effort designed to develop and support seniors who will champion an effort in their schools to enable physical activity opportunities for all school-age children.

 The PAL programme is an adaptable programme which should be designed to suit the needs of the students. Being a PAL gives the students within the school a sense of pride and satisfaction and a chance to develop a role model status.

The Selwyn Sports Trust will be holding an annual PALS training day in Malvern on Thursday 14 February.

This training is aimed at helping to train those selected students, so they feel prepared to lead fun, cooperative games in the playground. The training is filled with interactive activities to help convey the main four components of the training:
Leadership qualities
Communication skills and styles
Games training
Fair play

Date: Thursday 14 February
Time: 9.30am-2pm
Venue: Darfield Domain

Cost: $6 per student - Windwhistle School will cover the costs of this opportunity.

Transport - Alida Bell has kindly offered to provide transport for this event. She is able to transport all five students and is also happy to stay and supervise - thank you Alida. If you are also keen to head along please meet in the school library for a 9am departure. Children will be back in time to travel home on the bus.
