Today is Cross Country! Our whole school met in the library and drove to the Glentunnel Domain.

 When we got there we had 5 minutes till the briefing so we played Duck, duck goose! Once the briefing was over we got to write encouraging messages with chalk on the old tennis court. Then Amelia and I played naughts and crosses. Soon the year 1 boys were finishing their race so we went to the fence to watch them finish. Go! We were shouting! I felt nervous watching everyone finish.

Now it was my turn! Mr. S called us up and called out the roll for us year 5 girls. Once he had explained where we had to go he told us to take our positions. Ready… Set… Go he yelled! Everyone ran off the line and started the race. It got terribly muddy on part of the track. My shoe even came off so I ran the way with only 1 shoe on!

I had finally finished my race and came 1st! I felt exhausted! We got a hot chocolate at the end with a yummy marshmallow in it! Yum!

I felt so happy at the end of the race!
