What's On at Windwhistle - Term 3 - Holiday Edition

Windwhistle School —

Together we learn, grow, THRIVE

FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK:

To ensure the very best for our learners we often have to think in flexible ways. Some of you may have noticed how large our senior room has been getting with the arrival of eight new learners since lockdown!

As a result these learners have been quite cramped in the classroom and it has become difficult for the teachers to cater for the diverse needs of everyone in the class.

Luckily we have received some additional funding from the Ministry for Principal release and we have decided to put this towards employing Lucy Cookson for three extra mornings a week. I will be teaching the Year 3 & 4 students in the Wharenui Monday - Thursday mornings and Lucy will be teaching the Year 5 & 6 students. In the afternoon the students will join back together while I carry on with my Principal workload. We have trialed this new format this week and the children and staff seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

In 2021 we will be structuring the classes in a standard junior - senior format with Years 1-3 with Jane and the Years 4-6 with myself and Lucy. If you have any questions regarding these changes please feel free to get in touch.

- Bronwen
