Principal’s Welcome
Mike Crawford - February 15, 2024
Our tamariki are at the centre of all that we do and our learners are challenged to achieve their full potential in an atmosphere which promotes learning, success and achievement as well as fair and equal opportunities. We offer a range of academic, cultural and sporting activities to ensure that tamariki can participate in, and experience success in a range of areas.
We are a community involved in taking a shared responsibility of creating students who become Learners 4 Life - for our tamariki, extending their horizons by providing an innovative and vibrant learning environment, encouraging them to be enterprising and make positive contributions to society. Woodend learners will be respectful students who communicate effectively, are risk takers and thinkers who are actively involved in their learning and the community.
Our high expectations for learning and behaviour, alongside our school O tatou Pou learning values of:
Kotahitanga- connection, culture and collaboration
Rangatiratanga- character, initiative and motivation
Auahatanga- growth mindset, creative and expression
Mōhiotanga- curious, critical thinker and problem solver
The Woodend School Learning Community is built on a strong partnership between home and school. When you enrol at our school you are agreeing to be a partner in your tamariki’s learning. This is really important to us as you are their first teachers and working together we will achieve so much more.
I feel privileged to be Principal of the Woodend School Learning Community. I am proud of our school, our learning environment and the wonderful learning that is happening here. If I can be of any assistance please do make contact.
Nga mihi nui
