A massive congratulations to our Year 5/6 Debating Team that made it to the second round of the North Canterbury Competition.

Our Year 5/6 Team versed Loburn School this week for debating.  The topic was 'Do children these days have too much screen time?" We were on the positive side, and the students had some excellent points! Unfortunately, we lost against Loburn, so we are now knocked out of the comp, but it was a close and very exciting debate to watch!

Well done to our Year 7/8 Debating Team that versed Ohoka in Round 1 but unfortunately got knocked out. They showed strong team playing skills and tried their absolute best! 

Many members of these teams had never done debating before, so this was all new to them. It is very daunting debating in front of others, but these students grew in confidence and showed some true talent.
